According to the method, the shooting device on the vehicle is controlled to shoot according to the target sentry mode, so that the shooting device on the vehicle works according to the determined energy consumption, and the problem that the whole vehicle consumes large electric quantity when the vehicle is in the sentry mode due to the fact that the shooting device on the vehicle continuously works under full power and high energy consumption is avoided; according to the method, the target transmission link of the target sentry mode is determined, the monitoring data is subsequently transmitted through the target transmission link so as to store the monitoring data, the target transmission link is a transmission link which is determined according to the actual situation and conforms to the current situation of the vehicle, and the effect of reducing power consumption caused by monitoring data transmission is achieved; and the problem of high power consumption of the whole vehicle when the vehicle is in a sentry mode caused by continuously using a high-energy-consumption transmission link to transmit the monitoring data is avoided.
