The invention provides a helicopter and a vector electric tail rotor thereof, and the vector electric tail rotor of the helicopter comprises a high-power generator 1, a central electric controller 2, a high-energy battery 3, a ducted tail rotor motor 4, a vertical fin 5, ducted blades 6, a rotating bracket 7 and a vector control steering engine 8, wherein the central electric controller 2 is used as a power control center and is respectively connected with the high-power generator 1, the high-energy battery 3 and the ducted tail rotor motor 4; a turbine shaft engine or a piston engine of the helicopter provides driving power for the high-power generator 1, the generated power of the high-power generator 1 is adjusted by the central electric controller 2, and generated electric energy is distributed to the high-energy battery 3 or the ducted tail rotor motor 4 through the central electric controller 2 according to the actual use working condition. The ducted tail rotor motor 4 is a power mechanism of the vector electric tail rotor, a rotating shaft of the ducted tail rotor motor 4 is directly connected with the ducted blades 6, the rotating speed of the ducted tail rotor motor 4 is controlled by adjusting the magnitude of current through the central electric controller 2, and then different thrust forces are generated.
