The invention discloses an engine starting reverse dragging protection method for a hybrid power system, which comprises the following steps: acquiring the speed of a whole vehicle and the position of a gear shifting handle, and identifying the static state or the forward gear driving state of the vehicle according to the speed of the whole vehicle and the position of the gear shifting handle; if the vehicle is in the static state, the vehicle speed of the whole vehicle and the position of a gear shifting handle are verified, and the zero position of a motor is verified; and according to the target rotating speed of engine starting, the rotating speed and the torque of the generator are controlled according to a first rotating speed distribution formula: # imgabs0 #, engine starting is achieved, ns is the rotating speed of a sun gear, nc is the rotating speed of a planet carrier, and alpha is the mechanical distribution ratio. The engine can be prevented from being reversely dragged and damaged, the robustness and use comfort of the hybrid power system are improved, and energy consumption is reduced.
