The invention relates to a plug connection for mechanical and electrical connection to a mating plug connection, in particular a vehicle-side charging socket (1), for coupling to a charging plug as part of a charging infrastructure of an electric or hybrid vehicle, or vice versa. The basic structure of the plug connector has a housing (2) and at least one electrical contact element (3) arranged in the housing (2). Furthermore, a heat transfer element (5, 6) is realized which is in thermal contact with the electrical contact element (3). According to the invention, at least one region (5) of the housing (2) extending to the contact element (3) is designed as a heat transfer element (5, 6).
