A transport vehicle includes a storage device that stores map information including a route gradient and a route limit speed, and a vehicle control device that generates a target speed based on a position, an orientation, a traveling speed, and the map information of a vehicle body. The vehicle control device calculates, on the basis of the travel speed and the route gradient, a protection limit speed that increases in accordance with the elapse of time from the sensing of the operation of the mechanical brake device. The vehicle control device calculates a first distance at which the vehicle can travel when the route limit speed is set to an upper limit value of the target speed after a predetermined maintenance time has elapsed, and calculates a second distance at which the vehicle can travel when the protection limit speed is set to an upper limit value of the target speed. When the first distance is smaller than the second distance, the smaller one of the protection limit speed and the path limit speed is set as an upper limit value of the target speed, and when the first distance is larger than the second distance, a maintenance request instruction is output.

    搬送车辆包括存储包含路径坡度及路径限制速度在内的地图信息的存储装置和基于车身的位置、方位、行驶速度及地图信息而生成目标速度的车辆控制装置。车辆控制装置基于行驶速度及路径坡度来计算保护用限制速度,该保护用限制速度对应于从机械制动装置的动作感知起的时间经过而增加。车辆控制装置计算路径限制速度在经过预先设定的维护时间后被设定为目标速度的上限值的情况下能够行驶的第1距离,计算在保护用限制速度设定为目标速度的上限值的情况下能够行驶的第2距离,在第1距离小于第2距离情况下将保护用限制速度和路径限制速度中的较小速度设为目标速度的上限值,在第1距离大于第2距离情况下输出维护请求指示。
