The method comprises the following steps: acquiring ship automatic identification system data; performing data processing on the ship automatic identification system data to obtain dynamic section passing data; wherein the dynamic section passing data comprises ship length distribution data and traffic flow speed distribution data; obtaining ship domain influence factor data; calculating to obtain a dynamic ship domain according to the ship length distribution data and the ship domain influence factor data; and calculating dynamic traffic data through the dynamic ship field and the traffic flow speed distribution data so as to calculate dynamic traffic flow saturation data through the dynamic traffic data. According to the embodiment of the invention, the method can achieve the recognition of the traffic flow state in the channel in a short time, and effectively improves the recognition accuracy of the traffic flow state in the channel. The method can be widely applied to the technical field of traffic management.
