The invention discloses a Hall thruster ground ignition process monitoring method and device, and relates to the technical field of spacecraft equipment monitoring. In order to solve the technical problem that in the prior art, an existing Hall thruster ignition process monitoring method cannot capture details and rapid changes in the ignition process, the technical scheme provided by the invention is as follows: the method comprises the following steps: collecting an ignition occurrence position and a spatial evolution law of a Hall thruster in a vacuum tank; collecting light beams when the Hall thruster is ignited, separating the light beams according to a preset wavelength range, and respectively collecting light intensities of different wavelengths and time evolution laws; collecting the ion current density and the beam divergence angle of the far-field plume of the Hall thruster; and obtaining the influence of the sparking phenomenon on the plasma parameters according to the sparking occurrence position, the spatial evolution law, the light intensities of different wavelengths, the ion current density and the beam divergence angle. The method can be applied to photoelectric combined monitoring of the ignition process of the Hall thruster.
