An inflatable lift system for a vehicle includes N pockets vertically arranged in a stack, where N is an integer greater than 2. The N pressure sensors are configured to sense pressures in the N pockets, respectively. The compressor is configured to supply pressurized gas. The N valves are configured to selectively connect the N pockets to and disconnect the N pockets from the compressor. The controller is configured to control the N valves to successively inflate the N pockets in a first predetermined sequence and to successively deflate the N pockets in a reverse direction.
