The invention relates to an electric vehicle power system and a control method of the electric vehicle power system. The method comprises the steps that under the condition that the electric automobile is in a running state, a bidirectional direct-current converter is controlled to convert a high-voltage power supply provided by a power battery into a 48V power supply so as to supply power to a first-stage distribution box, and under the condition that the current voltage exceeds a first threshold value, the bidirectional direct-current converter is controlled to charge the 48V battery so as to supply power to a second-stage distribution box; and under the condition that the current voltage is lower than a second threshold value, controlling the 48V battery to discharge. By adopting the method, the power supply strategy can be intelligently adjusted according to the current voltage condition, the stable operation of a vehicle electrical system is ensured, and the flexibility and reliability of the system are enhanced.
