Various example embodiments relate to a solution for managing charging of an electric vehicle. An apparatus may be configured to: receive a charging transaction request associated with a user to charge an electric vehicle, the charging transaction request associated with a charging station; determining that the user belongs to a preferential charging user group, the preferential charging user group being associated with a charging station group including a plurality of charging stations, the plurality of charging stations including the charging station; and prioritizing the charging transactions associated with the charging stations in the group of charging stations.
