The invention relates to the technical field of ships, in particular to an air rudder installation method which comprises the following steps: determining the center line of a rudder shaft; an upper rudder bearing base and a lower rudder bearing base are installed on a propeller tower according to the center line of the rudder shaft; an upper pull rod base is installed on the paddle tower according to the design position, and a lower pull rod base is installed on the superstructure deck; a drilling tool is installed; an air rudder is connected with the upper rudder bearing base and the lower rudder bearing base; adjusting a rudder blade of the air rudder to a zero-degree position, and installing a rudder pushing mechanism on the paddle tower; the length of the upper pull rod and the length of the lower pull rod are adjusted, the upper pull rod is installed on the upper pull rod base, and the lower pull rod is installed on the lower pull rod base. According to the invention, the installation of the air rudder can be guided, so that the installation quality is ensured, and the normal work of the air rudder is ensured.
