The invention provides a rail traffic tool and a traction power supply system thereof. Due to the fact that the first input end and the output end of the high-voltage electrical box form an access when the third rail current collection system is adopted in the line of the rail traffic tool, the third rail and the power supply end of the rail traffic tool form an access at the moment. Therefore, the traction power supply system can convert the voltage of the third rail into the working voltage of the power system of the rail traffic tool, and the traction power supply system can take electricity from the third rail to supply power to the power system at the moment. Besides, as the second input end and the output end of the high-voltage electrical box form an access when the line of the rail vehicle adopts a contact network current collection system, the contact network and the power supply end of the rail vehicle form an access at the moment, and the traction power supply system can take power from the contact network to supply power to the power system at the moment. In conclusion, the method can enable the rail traffic tool to be compatible with the contact network current collection system and the third rail current collection system.
