The invention discloses a battery replacement method, which is used for a first main control module of an automatic guided vehicle, the automatic guided vehicle comprises a plurality of batteries, and the method comprises the following steps: receiving residual electric quantity information of the batteries in a power supply state; under the condition that the target battery exists, the residual electric quantity information of the target battery is sent to the main control platform, and the residual electric quantity of the target battery is lower than a set threshold value; controlling the battery in the idle state to supply power; controlling the target battery to be powered off in response to a proximity signal of the battery replacement equipment; sending a battery replacement signal to the battery replacement equipment; and under the condition that the standby battery is installed on the automatic guide vehicle, an installation completion signal of the standby battery is sent to the main control platform, and the standby battery is a battery carried by the battery replacement equipment. The invention further discloses the battery replacing equipment. According to the invention, the battery can be replaced without power failure, the waiting time in the battery replacement process is reduced, and the working efficiency of the AGV is improved.
