The invention relates to the field of energy management of range-extended electric vehicles, and discloses a range-extended electric vehicle energy management method which comprises the following steps: S1, acquiring an initial SOC value, a final preset SOC value and a predicted mileage of a vehicle; s2, determining a real-time calculation target value of the SOC; s3, determining a required power update value of the power battery; s4, calculating an output power update value of the APU system; s5, determining the control demand output power of the APU system; s6, according to the control demand output power of the APU system, the control demand output power of the power battery is calculated, the SOC of the power battery is made to descend along the preset target track, and the APU system is made to be at the optimal working point. By optimizing the energy distribution of the APU system and the power battery, higher energy utilization efficiency is achieved, the service life of the battery is prolonged, fuel consumption and emission are reduced, and the cruising ability and the driving smoothness of the whole vehicle are improved.
