A lifting yoke for lifting a building element (2) for building a rotor blade of a wind turbine wherein the lifting yoke (1) comprises a main body (3) and at least one attachment means (6) wherein the main body (3) can be arranged to be suspended on a hoisting mechanism, and wherein the attachment means (6) comprises at least one attachment mechanism (7) attachable to a surface (11, 16) of the building element (2) to be lifted, wherein the attachment means (6) is pivotable between at least a first position and a second position with and without attaching the building element (2), wherein the attachment mechanism (7) points downwards for attachment to a top side surface of a building element (2) in the first position and points upwards for attachment to a bottom side surface of a building element (2) in the second position.
