The invention relates to a method (1) for estimating a real ground speed (VRef) of an electrically drivable land vehicle by means of on-board evaluation electronics. In order to improve the estimation of the real speed (VRef), in particular in the limit cases where the vehicle maneuvers are limited, a first speed value (V1) is determined taking into account the instantaneous wheel speed of at least one wheel of the land vehicle, a second speed value (V2) is determined taking into account the longitudinal acceleration of the land vehicle, a third speed value (V3) is determined taking into account the received GPS data, and the first speed value (V1) and the second speed value (V2) are determined taking into account the received GPS data. And determining a fourth speed value (V4) taking into account camera data from the camera of the land vehicle, the actual speed (VRef) being estimated taking into account these speed values (V1-V4).
