The floating type photovoltaic platform comprises a floating body platform, an adjusting type photovoltaic mechanism and an inductor, wherein the adjusting type photovoltaic mechanism and the inductor are arranged on the floating body platform; the floating body platform is used for providing buoyancy; the adjusting type photovoltaic mechanism comprises an adjusting system and a photovoltaic module, the photovoltaic module is arranged on the adjusting system, and the adjusting system is used for controlling the azimuth angle and the inclination angle of the photovoltaic module, so that the working face of the photovoltaic module is perpendicular to solar rays; the inductor is arranged on the floating body platform, connected with the adjusting system and used for inducting the position of the sun, generating an induction signal and transmitting the induction signal to the adjusting system. The operation method of the floating type photovoltaic platform utilizes the floating type photovoltaic platform.
