The invention provides a seawater header pipe unit installation method. The seawater header pipe unit installation method comprises the following steps that pretreatment is conducted, a seawater header pipe unit is assembled, a gas injection opening and a pressure detection opening are selected, a pressure detection device is installed at the pressure detection opening, and openings of other pipelines are plugged. Carrying out a tightness test before hoisting, introducing predetermined gas into the seawater header pipe unit, checking whether gas leakage exists, if so, determining the position of a leakage point, carrying out maintenance, and then repeating the step, otherwise, keeping the seawater header pipe unit in an inflating and pressurizing state, and entering the next step; hoisting is carried out, a tightness test is carried out in the hoisting process, whether air leakage exists or not is checked in the hoisting process, if yes, hoisting is stopped, the position of a leakage point is determined, overhauling is carried out, then the step is repeated, and otherwise, the next step is carried out; and a seawater header pipe unit is installed in a marine engine room, and overall tightness inspection is conducted. According to the technical scheme, the tightness test is carried out in multiple stages, the tightness of the seawater header pipe unit can be better ensured, and the difficulty of test operation is reduced.
