The invention discloses an SOC calculation method and device for a multi-branch battery system, equipment and a medium, and belongs to the technical field of electric vehicles. The SOC calculation method of the multi-branch battery system comprises the following steps: calculating a real SOC value of each branch; the real SOC values of all the branches are synthesized, and the real SOC value of the battery system is determined; subtracting the real SOC value of the battery system from the display SOC value of the battery system, and obtaining an absolute value to obtain a difference value; when the difference value is greater than a first threshold value, determining an SOC chasing value; correcting the display SOC value of the battery system based on the catch-up multiplying power coefficient and the SOC catch-up value to obtain the corrected display SOC value of the battery system; and the display SOC value of the battery system is updated to the corrected display SOC value of the battery system, so that the calculation workload is reduced, and the reliability and accuracy of the display SOC of the battery system are improved.
