According to one embodiment, an electric actuator includes an output shaft, a motor, a speed reducer, a rotation sensor, a current sensor, and a control unit. A valley portion is provided on an outer peripheral edge of a stopper plate connected to an output shaft, and a contact portion in contact with the outer peripheral edge at a contact position is pressed to the outer peripheral edge. The valley portion has a bottom portion, a first inclined surface, and a second inclined surface. The control unit drives the motor to move the contact position toward the other side in the circumferential direction. The control unit performs: a first acquisition step for acquiring a first rotation angle on the basis of a current value when the contact position passes through the first inclined surface; a second acquisition step for driving the motor and acquiring a second rotation angle on the basis of the current value when the contact position passes through the second inclined surface; and a calculation step for storing a rotation angle between the first rotation angle and the second rotation angle as a bottom position rotation angle in a state where the contact position is located at the bottom.
