The invention provides a vehicle steering angle detection method and device. The method is applied to the vehicle steering angle detection device, the detection device comprises a driving gear, a driven gear, a sensor assembly and a steering shaft, the tooth number of the driving gear is different from that of the driven gear, and the sensor assembly comprises a first angle detection module and a second angle detection module; the method comprises the following steps: acquiring master gear angle data acquired by a first angle detection module and slave gear angle data acquired by a second angle detection module; and determining the steering absolute angle of the steering wheel according to the master gear angle data and the slave gear angle data. According to the method, the steering wheel steering angle detection efficiency is improved, and the requirement for the sensor detection precision is lowered.
