The method comprises the following steps that: a vehicle-mounted monitoring host acquires a running track of an obstacle in front of a vehicle and a running track of the vehicle according to information of the obstacle in front of the vehicle in a blind area and running data of the vehicle, and an intersection point exists between the running track of the obstacle in front of the vehicle and the running track of the vehicle; estimating the distance between the obstacle and the intersection when the vehicle arrives at the intersection and the relative position relation between the obstacle and the running track of the vehicle, and executing corresponding blind area collision treatment measures according to the distance and the relative position relation. The system comprises a roadside sensing unit, a roadside communication unit, a vehicle-mounted communication unit and a vehicle-mounted monitoring host for implementing the method. The roadside sensing unit is used for detecting obstacle information in a blind area, and the roadside communication unit and the vehicle-mounted communication unit are used for transmitting the obstacle information. Whether a collision risk exists between the vehicle and the obstacle or not can be accurately judged, and the vehicle safety is improved.
