The invention relates to a propulsion system comprising an engine comprising a pair of parallel longitudinal tubes (100), each longitudinal tube comprising a first end (10) and a second end (11) and defining an interior space (12) filled with fluid. Each longitudinal tube (100) comprises:-a catapult body (200) configured to move longitudinally in the interior space, fixedly connected to a propeller (201),-a firing mechanism for firing the catapult body from a first end into the interior space (12), the propeller (201) being arranged to convert a translational motion of the catapult body (200) into a rotational motion,-a second end of the catapult body (200) being arranged to move longitudinally in the interior space (12). -a means for slowing down the rotation of the ejection body (200) in the interior space (12), arranged at the second end,-a rebound means for rebounding the ejection body (200) to the first end,-a heat dissipation means, the propellers of the longitudinal tubes being counter-rotating.
