The present application relates to a power supply circuit for a vehicle, comprising a first side (A) comprising a power supply (14), a first battery pack (12) and a first electrical device (16), a second side (B) connected in series with the first side (A), between which an overload current breaker (22) and a controller (24) are arranged; the second side (B) comprises a second battery pack (18) and second electric equipment (20); the overload current circuit breaker (22) has a predetermined threshold breaking current (ITHreshold) at which the circuit is broken; a controller (24) is connected to the power source for regulating the output voltage of the power source (14), the controller (24) is provided with the threshold off current (ITHreshold), the controller is further operatively connected to a current measuring device (26, 28), providing information about the charging current (Ich) through the overload current breaker (22). The controller (24) is arranged to determine a maximum allowable charging current (IPermissible) with respect to a threshold turn-off current (ITHreshold), and the controller (24) is arranged to determine a maximum allowable charging current (IPermissible) with respect to the threshold turn-off current (ITHreshold); setting a low voltage (V) output by the power supply (14) for charging the second battery pack (18) when the power supply (14) is activated; monitoring a charging current (Ich) through the overload current breaker (22) to the second battery pack (18) using information from a current measuring device (26, 28), and comparing the charging current (Ich) with a maximum allowable charging current (IPermissible); if the charging current (Ich) is less than the maximum allowable charging current (Ichlt; if so, the output voltage (V) of the power supply (14) is increased; if the charging current (Ich) is equal to or greater than the maximum allowable charging current (Ich > = IPermissible), the output voltage (V) of the power supply (14) is reduced.
