The invention provides an automatic control water mist explosion suppression system and method for a ship, and belongs to the technical field of ship protection, and the system comprises an explosion position prediction module which is used for obtaining the tracking measurement information of a target rocket and obtaining the drop point position of the target rocket based on the tracking measurement information of the target rocket, and a decision module which is used for making a decision. The decision-making module is in communication connection with the explosion position prediction module and is used for determining a sweep cabin area of a ship based on a drop point position of a target rocket and generating a water mist control instruction of the sweep cabin area of the ship; and the spraying module is used for starting spraying water mist in the wave cabin of the ship based on the water mist control instruction of the wave cabin area of the ship. The technical problems that existing passive protection is high in cost and the ship performance is affected are solved based on the automatic control water mist explosion suppression system.
