A battery management apparatus according to an embodiment disclosed herein includes a controller configured to extract a driving mode of a vehicle on which a battery is mounted based on driving information of the vehicle, extract a battery setting parameter corresponding to the driving mode of the vehicle, and control the battery based on the extracted battery setting parameter; and a communication unit configured to transmit at least any one of information on a driving mode of the vehicle and the extracted battery setting parameter to a server, and transmit a battery setting parameter previously applied to the battery to the server at a specific cycle.
