The method comprises the steps that the rectifier cabinet reads interface information of the rectifier cabinet and the current maximum gun number; and the rectifier cabinet sequentially selects one power supply distribution unit to output voltage to the corresponding charging gun according to the current maximum gun number and the sequence of the port numbers, so that the charging terminal performs self-inspection on the gun number of each charging gun according to the voltage and interface information output by each power supply distribution unit. One power distribution unit is selected in sequence to output the voltage to the corresponding charging gun, so that the charging terminal can perform self-inspection on the gun number of each charging gun according to the voltage and interface information output by each power distribution unit, the self-inspection of the gun number of the charging gun can be automatically performed, and the self-inspection efficiency is improved. The number of charging guns connected with the current split type direct current charging pile is detected; and cable connection errors and hardware faults can be known and eliminated in advance, so that the operation risk is reduced.
