The invention discloses a battery lifter and a control method of the battery lifter, and the battery lifter comprises a bracket, a lifting device and a turnover mechanism, the support is provided with a conveying channel extending in the vertical direction. The lifting device is used for carrying a tray loaded with a battery on the transportation channel; the turnover mechanism is mounted on the bracket and has an initial state and a supporting state; when the turnover mechanism is in the initial state, the turnover mechanism is located outside the conveying channel. When the turnover mechanism is in the supporting state, the turnover mechanism turns over and enters the conveying channel to support the trays which are conveyed by the lifting device and are provided with the batteries. Through the arrangement, the cost of the battery elevator can be reduced.
