The invention discloses a mobile crane with a self-pre-tightening device and a method for the self-pre-tightening device, and relates to the technical field of mobile cranes with the self-pre-tightening device.The mobile crane comprises rotating assemblies and a driving assembly, the rotating assemblies are used for being rotationally installed on a body, one rotating assembly is used for being connected with one end of a steel wire rope, and the other rotating assembly is used for being connected with the other end of the steel wire rope. The other end of the steel wire rope is connected with the other rotating assembly through the first guide pulley block and the second guide pulley block and continuously extends to be connected with the other rotating assembly; one driving assembly is in transmission connection with one rotating assembly, and the other driving assembly is in transmission connection with the other rotating assembly; by means of the structure, the steel wire rope does not need to be pulled out completely, and only the two rotating assemblies need to take up or pay off the steel wire rope mutually, so that self-pre-tightening of the steel wire rope is achieved, the pre-tightening operation difficulty is greatly reduced, and the steel wire rope self-pre-tightening operation steps are simplified.
