The present invention provides an automated clamp for clamping a rib web to a rib strut or a rib foot of an aircraft wing box, the clamp comprising: a clamp frame having a first arm and a second arm extending from a base of the clamp frame, where the second arm is movable toward and away from the first arm; a robot end effector connector, the robot end effector connector being coupled to the clamp frame; a clamp jaw including a first jaw secured at a distal end of the first arm and a second jaw secured at a distal end of the second arm, the clamp jaw configured to clamp an aircraft assembly, where one of the jaws includes a tool module docking aperture, and the other jaw includes a tool module docking aperture. A tool module is insertable into the tool module docking aperture for accessing the aircraft assembly; and a chip channel extending into the tool module docking aperture, the chip channel fluidly connected to a vacuum source and configured to withdraw waste proximate the aircraft assembly.
