The invention relates to a steering actuator (1), in particular of a rear axle steering system (20), comprising a housing (2) and a tappet (3) guided therein, having an anti-rotation mechanism (4) acting between the housing (2) and the tappet (3). The anti-rotation mechanism (4) comprises two sliding elements (5, 6) arranged on opposite circumferential sides of the push rod (3) and each in contact with an inner wall (10) of the housing (2). An inner wall (10) of the housing (2) is axially parallel to the abutment surfaces (7, 8). The sliding elements (5, 6) are connected to the push rod (3) so as to be immovable in circumferential and axial directions.
