The invention relates to a preheating device for a vehicle battery. An inverter heat generation control unit causes at least one of the inverters to generate heat by passing a constant current through a predetermined time, and the heat generated by the at least one of the inverters preheats a high-voltage battery (storage battery) via a cooling circuit. Thereby, by passing a constant current through the inverter for a predetermined time, control for preheating the high-voltage battery (storage battery) is simply performed. In addition, the inverter heat generation control can also be applied to a vehicle without a boost converter.
