The invention discloses a traveling crane rail gnawing prevention method and system. The method comprises the steps that the left front distance, the left rear distance, the right front distance, the right rear distance, the trolley position, the wheel width, the rail width and the distance between the inner wheel edge of a wheel and a rail of a traveling crane are obtained; calculating the distance between the rail and the inner wheel edge or the outer wheel edge when the rail is not gnawed according to the wheel width and the rail width; calculating a deviation value according to the distance between the inner wheel edge and the track and the distance between the track and the inner wheel edge or the outer wheel edge; calculating driving state data according to the deviation value, the left front distance, the left rear distance, the right front distance and the right rear distance; determining a driving operation state according to the driving state data, the left front distance, the left rear distance, the right front distance and the right rear distance; performing position compensation on the driving operation state according to the position of the trolley to obtain a compensation result; adjusting the running state of the crane according to the compensation result. The rail gnawing prevention method and system for the traveling crane are high in accuracy, reliability, adaptability and flexibility, low in maintenance cost and high in safety.
