An elevator traction machine monitoring mechanism comprises an elevator control cabinet, an elevator traction machine and a monitoring control module, the elevator traction machine comprises a motor and a brake, a rope blocking assembly is arranged at the bottom of a brake base of the brake, and the rope blocking assembly comprises a rope blocking installation shaft, a rope blocking piece and a rope blocking monitoring module. The middle of the rope blocking piece is installed on the brake base through a rope blocking installation shaft, and the rope blocking piece can rotate with the rope blocking installation shaft as the center. When the upper end of the rope blocking piece presses and triggers the detection end of the rope blocking monitoring module, the rope blocking monitoring module can send a rope blocking signal to the monitoring control module, and the monitoring control module sends a rope blocking alarm signal to an elevator control cabinet according to the rope blocking signal sent by the rope blocking monitoring module. By means of the structure, parts needed for achieving the stopping rope monitoring function are effectively simplified, the purpose of reducing the manufacturing cost is achieved, meanwhile, the safety of an elevator is guaranteed, and elevator accidents are reduced.
