The invention relates to an all-terrain driving mode switching system and method based on a PHEV four-wheel-drive vehicle. The switching system comprises a brake-by-wire system, a vehicle machine system, a hybrid control system, an electric power steering system, a driving mode switching switch and a vehicle body domain control and instrument system. The driving mode change-over switch is used for sending a driving mode request signal to the vehicle machine system; the vehicle machine system is used for forwarding a driving mode request signal to the brake-by-wire system, the hybrid control system and the electric power steering system, and the brake-by-wire system, the hybrid control system and the electric power steering system execute corresponding MAPs. The corresponding driving modes are switched on the basis of different driving road conditions of the automobile, the switching state of the driving modes of the automobile is detected through the sensors, and therefore intelligent control over the driving modes is achieved, the requirements of a user under the scenes of economy, comfort, movement, cross-country and the like are met, and the driving experience of the automobile is improved.
