The purpose of the present invention is to provide a position/attitude estimation device and a position/attitude estimation method capable of estimating the position and attitude of a vehicle with higher accuracy. A position/attitude estimation device according to an embodiment includes a periphery measurement sensor and a position/attitude estimation unit. The periphery measurement sensor generates three-dimensional measurement data of the periphery of the vehicle by measuring the distance to the vehicle. The position and attitude estimation unit estimates the position and attitude of the vehicle on the basis of the three-dimensional measurement data generated by the periphery measurement sensor and the three-dimensional periphery map stored in the storage unit.

    目的在于提供位置姿态推定装置及位置姿态推定方法,能够更高精度地推定车辆的位置及姿态。本实施方式的位置姿态推定装置具备周边测量传感器和位置姿态推定部。周边测量传感器通过测量距车辆的距离,生成车辆周边的三维测量数据。位置姿态推定部基于由周边测量传感器生成的三维测量数据及存储于存储部的三维周边地图,推定车辆的位置及姿态。
