The invention discloses a pedestrian crossing safety performance evaluation method suitable for a signal-free road section. The method comprises the following steps: S1, determining a signal-free road section needing to be evaluated; s2, determining the number of conflict events required for evaluating the road section; s3, calculating a post-intrusion time (PET) value and a conflict speed V; the conflict speed V is selected from an instantaneous speed at which a driver notices pedestrians and starts to decelerate, and is obtained by analyzing the video by using python software; s4, performing clustering analysis on the PET value and the conflict speed V obtained by video analysis through python software, and obtaining two clustering centers by using a K-Means algorithm during clustering analysis; and S5, substituting the PET value of the clustering center obtained by clustering analysis and the conflict speed into a risk assessment function, and classifying pedestrian and vehicle conflicts according to an RS value to assess the safety performance.
