The elevator system is configured so as to be able to receive an internal call performed by a user operating an operation panel of an elevator and an external call performed from an external device using a communication network. An elevator system is provided with a processor that allocates a car as a dispatch candidate to an internal call or an external call from among one or more cars. When an external call is accepted, the processor executes: an operation state determination process for determining whether one or more cars are in an operation state or a non-operation state, and an operation state determination process for determining whether the one or more cars are in an operation state or a non-operation state, respectively; and an external call allocation process in which, compared with the car in the operating state, the car in the non-operating state is preferentially allocated as a dispatch candidate.
