The invention belongs to the technical field of hybrid electric vehicles, and particularly relates to a hybrid electric vehicle energy management real-time optimization method based on an approximate minimum value. According to the method, firstly, a Hamilton function and a corresponding constraint condition are simplified, then, a simplified formula is optimized, an energy management model based on the approximate minimum principle is established, and finally, an energy management strategy based on the approximate minimum principle is proposed according to the model. The energy management strategy based on the approximate minimum principle is obtained by simplifying the energy management strategy based on the minimum principle, so that the calculation efficiency of a numerical iterative algorithm based on the minimum principle can be greatly improved on the premise of sacrificing the economical efficiency of a small amount of fuel oil; therefore, the energy management strategy can meet the requirement of real vehicle control for algorithm instantaneity, and a theoretical foundation is laid for real-time optimization and application of the energy management strategy.
