The method comprises the steps that the actual driving mode and operation parameter information of a vehicle at the current moment are obtained, the vehicle has multiple driving modes, and the number of wheels driven by the vehicle in the different driving modes is different; according to the actual driving mode and the operation parameter information, the driving working condition of the vehicle is determined; determining a target driving mode of the vehicle according to the driving working condition; and controlling the driving mode of the vehicle according to the actual driving mode of the vehicle and the target driving mode. By adopting the method, the vehicle driving mode can be adjusted according to the vehicle working condition, and the dynamic property and fuel economy of the vehicle are both considered.
