When a power battery is charged, the current battery temperature of the power battery is detected; when the current battery temperature is lower than a normal-temperature charging threshold value, a temperature section between the current battery temperature and the normal-temperature charging temperature threshold value is divided into a plurality of continuous temperature intervals; and in each temperature interval, charging the power battery by adopting a preset charging rate matched with each temperature interval, so that the battery temperature of the power battery rises to the temperature upper limit value of the corresponding temperature interval. By utilizing the battery pack, the charging time is shortened under the condition of keeping relatively high charging efficiency, a heating device does not need to be additionally configured, the structural design of the battery pack is simplified, the battery pack is lightened, the energy density of the battery pack is improved, and the production cost of an automobile is reduced.
