The invention provides a remote judgment method and system for an urban traffic accident, and relates to the technical field of traffic accident judgment, and the method comprises the steps: determining a calibration object, placing the calibration object in a traffic accident scene, shooting the traffic accident scene through a camera device, and obtaining an accident scene picture; extracting a plurality of shooting angles of the accident scene picture, and carrying out measurement position point identification on the accident scene picture to obtain an accident scene position point; obtaining coordinates of accident site position points through map analysis, converting the position points according to the position conversion relation, and obtaining the relative distance of the converted position points; and verifying the traffic accident according to the relative distance, and generating a traffic accident processing decision. According to the method and the device, the technical problems that the traffic accident processing efficiency is reduced and the urban road safety is further influenced due to inaccurate judgment of the traffic accident in the prior art can be solved, the technical target of accurately processing the traffic accident is realized, and the technical effect of ensuring the urban road safety is achieved.
