The invention provides an automobile waste heat recovery control method. The automobile waste heat recovery control method comprises the steps that the environment temperature, the air conditioner heating requirement temperature and the power assembly water temperature are obtained; according to the environment temperature and the air conditioner heating demand temperature, the power assembly demand water temperature is determined; the water temperature of the power assembly is compared with the environment temperature and the water temperature required by the power assembly, and the state of an automobile waste heat recovery mode is controlled according to the comparison result: when the water temperature of the power assembly is larger than the water temperature required by the power assembly, the automobile is controlled to enter the waste heat recovery mode; and when the water temperature of the power assembly is lower than the environment temperature, the automobile is controlled to quit the waste heat recovery mode. According to the automobile waste heat recovery control method and device, more waste heat generated by the power assembly can be used for heating the passenger compartment, so that the heat loss is reduced, and the consumed power of an air conditioner is reduced.
