An object speed scatter diagram and an object light rise rate scatter diagram are extracted according to the single vehicle image frame set, the vehicle monitoring confidence level is determined according to the object speed scatter diagram and the object light rise rate scatter diagram, and finally the vehicle object visibility is determined according to the visible color transfer matrix and the vehicle monitoring confidence level. According to the method and the device, the visibility of the vehicle object is determined according to the change of the visibility degree of the image color of the vehicle moving object, and an alarm is given according to the visibility of the vehicle object, so that the problem that road visibility alarm errors are easily caused when a fog lamp light source is weakened due to fog lamp aging is avoided; and the accuracy of road visibility monitoring is improved.
