The invention discloses a manual and electric chain hoist which comprises a shell, a five-tooth long shaft and a driving assembly. The five-tooth long shaft is rotationally installed on the shell and lifts a heavy object through rotation of the first side. The driving assembly is installed on the second side of the five-tooth long shaft, and the driving end of the driving assembly extends out of the shell. An actuating piece outside the shell drives the driving end in a manual or electric mode so as to drive the five-tooth long shaft to rotate. The lifting device has the beneficial effects that the driving assembly is driven by the external actuating piece to rotate the five-tooth long shaft, and the driving force arm can be adaptively changed according to the lifting requirement so as to improve the lifting capacity.
