The invention discloses an electromagnetic damper which comprises a threaded rod and a magnetic device, the magnetic device comprises a magnet and a threaded pipe, the threaded pipe is in threaded fit with the threaded rod, the electromagnetic damper further comprises a first connecting piece and a second connecting piece, the first connecting piece is connected with the threaded rod, and the second connecting piece is connected with the magnetic device. The first connecting piece and the second connecting piece cannot rotate on the radial plane of the rod piece in the connecting freedom degree, and at least one of the threaded rod and the magnetic device is rotationally connected. The invention provides two kinds of pull-out type non-power-supply self-stabilization electromagnetic dampers, damping force is applied by utilizing the relative motion characteristic of the magnet rotor and a rod piece, the installation position of the electromagnetic damper is different from that of a traditional electromagnetic damper, the electromagnetic damper is installed between a floating platform and a lower anchor rod, and the damping force is applied. The damper can obviously reduce the vibration amplitude of an offshore suspended structure, investment is saved, the effect is obvious, and many economic benefits can be brought.
