The invention relates to a hydraulic system, and discloses a sequential telescopic hydraulic system and a folding arm crane, the sequential telescopic hydraulic system comprises a plurality of stages of hydraulic cylinders, each hydraulic cylinder comprises a center pipe, a piston and a piston rod, the first end of each center pipe penetrates through a center hole of the corresponding piston and extends into a center channel of the corresponding piston rod, and the second end of each center pipe penetrates through a center hole of the corresponding piston; the center pipe is in clearance fit with a center hole of the piston, an oil passing structure is arranged at the first end of the center pipe and used for communicating a rodless cavity of the hydraulic cylinder with a center channel after the center pipe moves to a preset position, and the center channel of the piston rod is connected with a rodless cavity of the hydraulic cylinder of the next stage. The rod cavities of every two adjacent hydraulic cylinders are connected. The sealing via hole risk can be eliminated, and the service life of the hydraulic cylinder is prolonged.
