The invention provides'vehicle deceleration control '. A system includes a computer including a processor and a memory. The computer is programmed to determine a target location of the vehicle; determining an adjustable acceleration parameter based on the vehicle speed and the distance to the target position; determining a constraint on a control barrier function based on the adjustable acceleration parameter, the control barrier function outputting an acceleration to park the vehicle at the target location; and upon solving the control barrier function to meet the constraint, actuating the vehicle to decelerate based on an acceleration output from the control barrier function.
