The invention relates to the technical field of vehicle brake control, in particular to an electromechanical brake system failure backup control method which is based on an automobile wheel EMB module, a driving system, an accelerator pedal, a brake pedal, other systems and an integrated controller. The automobile wheel EMB module is provided with an independent control system for braking automobile wheels, and a driving system can generate energy recovery torque to obtain a braking effect; other systems comprise components needing to have signal interaction with the automobile wheel EMB module on the whole automobile. The integrated controller communicates with an automobile wheel EMB module, a driving system, an accelerator pedal, a brake pedal, other systems and a motor system. After the brake pedal loses efficacy, the accelerator pedal is used for achieving full-range brake and acceleration work of the vehicle, hardware cost does not need to be increased, and safety redundancy of a brake-by-wire system is improved.
