The invention discloses a charging method and device for railway vehicles. The method comprises the steps that charging position information, operation plan information of multiple target railway vehicles and multiple pieces of battery information corresponding to the multiple target railway vehicles are obtained; according to the charging position information, the operation plan information and the multiple pieces of battery information, charging strategies of the multiple target rail vehicles are determined; and executing the charging strategy. The charging strategies of the multiple railway vehicles needing to be charged are determined according to the charging position information and the operation plan information, and then the charging strategies are executed, so that the multiple railway vehicles can automatically reach the charging positions to be charged; workers do not need to operate the second batch of cloud bar to the charging position for charging after the charging of the first batch of cloud bars is finished, so that the intelligent degree of charging of the cloud bars after the current operation plan is finished is improved, and the labor cost is reduced.
